What is Acute care?

Inpatient treatment or admission in the hospital for psychiatry patients, is provided to individuals with severe mental health conditions who require 24-hour supervision, structured treatment, and a safe environment. It is needed for patients with acute suicidal ideation or attempt , severe agitation or aggression, If someone poses a risk to themselves or others due to extreme agitation or aggressive behavior, psychosis severe mood disorders like major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, or severe anxiety disorders, substance abuse and withdrawal, children and teenagers experiencing severe behavioral or emotional disturbances poses a significant risk to the safety of others.
Dr. Kale evaluates the patient and plans treatment according to his/her need or requirement. Patients who require medication for their mental health condition will receive careful monitoring, adjustment, and education about their medications. The goal is to stabilize symptoms and reduce the risk of side effects. Inpatient care also includes various therapeutic interventions, including individual therapy, family therapy etc.
